Homeopathic first aid and travel kits can be found already assembles at many homeopathic pharpacies and suppliers of homeopathic supplies. Often they include up to 18 remedies that are prepackaged in vials or small bottles. However it is easy to make your own homeopathic first aid and travel kit by simply purchasing a small lidded container or box on your own and including those remedies which you ,personally, have found to be beneficial. (A small, plactic tool or fishing tackle box can work nicely. )
However, if you are new to the homeopathic practice, it may seem like a daunting task to make decisions about which remedies should be included in your kit. Following is a suggested list ten basic remedies to include in your kit that should be sufficient to treat most situations requiring first aid. |

Aconite: Used in the treatment of anxiety, panic, fear or mental conditions associated irregular sleep and disruption of routine. Can be useful when the first signs of a cold or sore throat appear.
Apis mel. : To treat bites and stings. Useful for swelling of legs and feet caused by fluid retention caused by sitting long amounts of time while traveling.
Arnica : Bruising after injury, sprains and strains, neck and shoulder pain, headaches. Used in an ointment or cream, with care taken to not apply to broken skin from a cut or abrasion.

Cantharis: Chronic bladder infection characterized by burning upon urination. Useful in sun burn, after insect bites and stings.
Gelsemium: Cold symptoms characterized by sore throat, coughs and shivering.
Graphites: Cream used to soothe skin irritations from eczema, contact dermatitis, itchy skin. Skin reactions to chlorinated water and chemicals found in laundry, swimming pools and hot tubs, or with change in climate temperature.
Hypericum/Calendula mixture: Tincture used for for cleaning wounds. Ointment or cream can be applied to areas of skin inflammation and irritation from conditions of acne, eczems, dermatitis, rash, sunburn, or herpes simplex sores. or after insect bites and stings.
This can be used on infants and babies for treatment of diaper rash, crusty scalp areas, and abrasions.
Ledum: Puncture type wounds and insect bites. After the removal of a splinter.
Nux vomica: Motion sickness or digestive upset brought on by food or travel or over-indulgence in alcohol or food.
Rhus tox. : Muscle and joint pain and stiffness after hiking, skiing, biking, paddling, or other sports and exercise type exertion. |
